Exit 5 Robotics – VEX Team 15280, 3063, C5280

The 2019/20 robotics season is in full swing. We merged with our sister team Exit 5A Robotics to compete in VRC this season. Our team finds itself in the same position as in 2015 with 4 juniors busy preparing for SATs and college visits. We added a new team members from other towns.
The team as always is looking forward to a season promoting VEX (grades 8-12) and VEX IQ (grades 4-7) We’ll be participating in the Girl Powered challenge to help double the number of girls on robotics teams and taking it a step further to double the number of all-girls robotics teams in NJ. Contact us (email info at bottom of page) if you need more information on starting an FLL team, a VEX IQ (VIQ) team, VEX Robotics Competition (VRC), or World Robot Olympiad (WRO) team.

It All Started in 2010..
We are an all-girls robotics team, originally formed in 2010 to compete in FIRST Lego League (FLL). The team consists of a collection of friends, neighbors, classmates, and teammates. The team’s common bonds are an interest in METS (not the NY Mets, but Math, Engineering, Technology & Science) and returning home from out-of-town excursions using the ramp to Exit 5, Interstate 280. Starting with the five girls from Livingston, NJ elementary schools, the team has had incredible growth with 40 girls (including 12 from junior sister team Exit 5A Robotics) participating in competitive robotics and STEM. Since season 2011, the team has qualified every single year for a national or international finals competition. Four team members hold the distinction of being the only people to ever win three consecutive NJ State FLL Champions Awards. Over the span of 13 years and 1500 teams, the 2011 Exit 5 Robotics was the first all-girls team to win a Champions Award in a FLL NJ State Finals.
