The LRC Jr.FLL Expo (co-hosted by Spongebots and Exit 5A Robotics) was held on May 23, 2015. The theme for the season was about places and tools for learning. There were 30 teams from 16 towns in 9 counties: Bergen, Camden, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex , Morris, Somerset and Chester Pennsylvania.

The participants enjoyed the following activities:

• With the theme of places and tools for learning, we set up our 3D Printer Village to show the tools, 3D printers. There were DIY and open source printers built by students. The exhibiting printers including: Kossel Mini, Prusa i3, Ultimaker Original, and TETRIX printer.
• Jr. FLL teams (ages 6-9) presenting their “Think Tank” projects and LEGO models that incorporate motors and computer programming.
• FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robot demonstration by Spongebots and Exit 5A Robotics
• FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robot demonstration by Exit 5 Robotics
• Family friendly activities including a petting zoo, art & craft, face painters, a giant blow-up obstacle course and slides, adopt-a-pet, and a chalk walk, food and music among others.

The Results

In additional to the medal that each team member received at the Expo, the members may request a copy of the certificate as well. Click here for a copy of the certificates. It’s a PowerPoint file with 16 slices. Choose the award that your team received, put your team # and name on, and print that slice out for your team members.
