A record-high 50 teams from 22 Northern Jersey towns and Livingston Robotics Club celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the LRC FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo, once again proudly sponsored by St. Barnabas Medical Center, at the Livingston Oval on May 18th, as part of the Family Fun Festival during the Youth Appreciation Celebration.

At the Expo, children showed their work to the judges and the public, while enjoying a variety of STEM enrichment activities, including robotics demonstrations for VEX by veteran LRC team Exit 5 Robotics and FLL Into Orbit by another LRC team Flame Machines, as well as an interactive science show “Reach to the Moon” by Mad Science.

Every one of those 50 teams took home an official award, ranging from “Inquiring Minds”, “Amazing Robot Design”, to “Most Explosive Team”, among many others. Among the teams, four are LRC members: Team Hope, Legonauts, RoboDominators, and Super Lego Bros. The Hartshorn Elementary School in Short Hills made a big splash with 8 teams, and Livingston Huaxia Chinese School maintained their strong presence with 4 teams from their LEGO WeDo classes.
