After a very successful pilot Shining Star robotics program for FIRST LEGO League, Livingston Robotics Club (LRC) is now expanding the program to start a new robotics team for younger children to participate in Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) for ages 6 to 9.
The program is accepting children to join on a first-come-first-serve basis, limiting 6 members per team, with one or two parent coaches. There is also an application and interview process that will take into account the commitment level of the parents of the children to assist in the team coaching and team activities.
Formal team registration must be completed no later than April 15, 2012. Children will work on a science and LEGO building project in April and May and participate in Jr.FLL Expo on May 26, 2012 in Livingston. In this meeting, we will go over the Jr.FLL program and how we plan to form a Jr.FLL Shining Star team within LRC.
Open to parents of children with special needs, ages 6-9 who have interest in LEGO building and science-related topics. If you live outside of Livingston area, you can still be part of the LRC team as long as you can form a team with 3 members from your area.
