X PRIZE Foundation and Shell announced a join partnership in the new X PRIZE Exploration Prize Group challenge to promote exploration of space, oceans and land. Team Landroids was invited to exhibit our 2010 Moonbots winning robot and our FTC robot at this exclusive press event on 10/6/11 held at the NYC Explorers Club, as the young ambassadors  and explorers of X PRIZE in promoting STEM education outreach.  Landroids got to meet with many renown explorers, VIPs and scientists.  See our Facebook for the event photo journal.

The new X PRIZE citizen global challenge is a viral video competition designed to inspire the next generation of explorers in improving the knowledge of our planet and the universe. The “Why doYOU Explore?” competition, which runs until April 2012, challenges the public to create their ownoriginal and “mashup” videos on exploration, using assets such as interviews with great explorers of thepast and present, imagery from NASA and footage from groundbreaking missions across the frontiers ofspace, Earth and the seas.
