Livingston Robotics Club and team Landroids are taking the Jr. FLL Expo participants and the LRC teams to visit the St. Barnabas Medical Center located in Livingston, NJ.

St. Barnabas Medical Center has not only sponsored the LRC Jr. FLL “Body Forward” Expo this year, it is also inviting us to visit the robotics surgical device, the “da Vinci”, and meet their team of robotics surgical doctors.  LRC members, 2011 LRC Jr. FLL participants, coaches and families are welcome.  Limited age 6 (kindergarten) or older.

Date: Friday, June 24, 2011

Time: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Jr. FLL teams should arrive between 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.  FLL teams can arrive between 3 PM to 4 PM).

Come in from the main hospital entrance, go through the lobby, across from the reception desk is the auditorium doors. Proceed inside to see the exhibits.  If your team is coming in multiple cars, please gather your entire team before proceeding to see the da Vinci demonstration on stage.

WEAR YOUR TEAM SHIRTS. That’s your “ticket” to this event.

The da Vinci robot will be set up on the auditorium stage for everyone to get a closer look. Different stations are set up throughout the auditorium, so you can talk to the robotics surgical doctors, see videos of the minimum invasive surgical procedures, and learn more about how robotics and engineering can play an important part in the medical world.
